I was born in Kansas City, Missouri and grew up in Jefferson City, Missouri. After graduating from high school in 2012, I attended Missouri State University in Springfield, MO where I graduated in 2016 with a B. Sc. in Physics and a minor in Mathematics. I was immediately interested in physics due to its fundamental nature, allowing physicists to contribute to a wide range of scientific problems. Immediately after graduation with my bachelors, I moved to Fort Collins, Colorado to attend Colorado State University where I performed my dissertation work under the supervision of Prof. Kate Ross. I defended my dissertation Quantum Magnetism in the Rare-Earth Pyrosilicates in March 2021. I then took a position as a postdoctoral researcher at Purdue University under the supervision of Prof. Arnab Banerjee and Prof. Yong Chen. I am now an Assistant Professor at Brock University.

When I am not doing physics, one of my favorite things to do is play video games with my wife and long-term friends. I also love to cook and try new foods, with a particular interest in understanding the science of cooking. I also enjoy playing with my cat, Ada, who was best friends with my late dog Zorra.
